Seeking Godly Counsel

Psalm 1: 1-3 1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

Previous teachings:

  1. That we would pray and not give up.
  2. That we would pray and not lose heart

Don’t you love the way Jesus teaches? How he speaks to the heart? All he wants is for us to love him, and to let that relationship feed everything else. Praise To God for a Living Hope

1 Peter 1-9: 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance. Praise to God for a Living Hope 3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Happy Independence Day!

As you celebrate your Independence as an American citizen – remember to also celebrate and be thankful for all of your freedoms. As Americans, we are free to choose our leaders, free to raise our children by our own standards and free to worship the way we choose. These are just a few of the freedoms we often forget and take for granted. Continue reading

Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom

Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom

Sermon Notes June 26th, 2011

Message: 1Cor. 1:18-31

Paul says here in the text that the message we share is the power of God to those being saved.  Power is a force.  Force causes reaction. When we contemplate the truth of the bible, we’re moved by the impact it has on our spirit. On our life as a Christian. Knowing the truth is a very compelling thing. Continue reading
